As a heavy highway contractor, Milestone has the experience, equipment and personnel to handle any size construction project. Our asphalt is economical, 100% recyclable, and provides a smooth, quiet ride. With drum asphalt plants throughout Indiana, we can complete your project at a reasonable cost AND using the best quality materials. Our drum plants have a more efficient production rate than batch plants, which reduces our base costs so our customers’ expenses can be lower, too.
Milestone stresses environmental and community friendly plant operations. Our Plant 15 in Plainfield, Indiana received the National Asphalt Pavement Association's (NAPA) Ecological Award and a Community Improvement Award from the city of Plainfield itself. Our plants’ typical emission rates are less than 5 percent of the IDEM allowed levels. To lower our emissions even more and improve working conditions at the plants, we’ve brought in the technology for warm mix asphalt, which allows us to produce mixes at temperatures 60 to 100 degrees cooler than would be possible with traditional hot mix technology.
All of Milestone's plants are approved by the State of Indiana Department of Transportation's (INDOT) Certified Hot Mix Producer Program. The program certifies equipment and personnel, and the certification allows Milestone to bid on all types of Indiana projects and assures the quality of the mixture produced.
Milestone Contractors, L.P. boasts a Quality Control Department designing and producing mixtures that consistently meet or exceed customer’s specifications. We have 2 types of laboratories, Mix Design Laboratories and Plant Laboratories. Our Mix Design Labs are located in Columbus, Indianapolis, and Lafayette and are certified by the nationally recognized AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory.
