Supporting the Ronald McDonald House

When the best treatment for a sick child is far from home, thankfully, families don’t have worry about where to stay. At a Ronald McDonald House, families can stay together, rest and recharge to remain strong for their child, interact with families going through similar experiences, enjoy home-cooked meals and receive compassionate hospitality from staff and volunteers — all just minutes from the hospital where their child is receiving care.

The Ronald McDonald House charities work to make families lives a little easier in their time of need. We support their mission in dedicating our time and resources to making a difference in the lives of those around us. Recently, we donated our pre-season Colt's tickets to the Ronald McDonald House to be shared by the families currently staying there. We did this in hopes of bringing a little light, and positive difference in their day.

I wanted to share these sweet photos with you! This is one of the SEVERAL families we were able to send to the Colts game, thanks to the generosity of your team. Thank you so much for the opportunity! Mom said, "it was so nice to get to do something together outside of the hospital".-Julia Elliott, Guest Services Manager, RMHC Central Indiana

Each year, thousands of families rely on Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana to provide a home away from home while their child/children receives medical care. For these guests, items like toiletries and household paper products are the last thing on their minds after long days spent at the hospital, but these everyday products make a huge impact in the routines of those who come through their doors. Here are the top ten most needed items to provide families with the comforts of home during their stay.

Top 10 Items Needed at the House:

  • Multi-Surface Spray

  • Liquid Laundry Detergent

  • Paper Towels

  • Liquid Dish Detergent

  • Deodorant

  • Liquid Hand Soap

  • Liquid Dishwasher Detergent

  • Chapstick

  • Ziploc Bags (all sizes)

  • Dryer Sheets

We will have a box set up in the Accounting Department at Decatur Blvd so if you are shopping and would like to pick up an extra something to help, feel free to do so and know it will go to good use. Between Josh Stroud and Cathy Wethington we will make sure these items get dropped off. We don’t have a deadline on these goodies so just send in between now and the end of the year and we will get them to the House!!

One easy thing we can all do, and we have been doing here at the Decatur Blvd Office, is saving those pop tabs from your favorite beverage. Send them on in, again we will make sure they get to the right location. Over 1 Billion pop tabs have been donated since the program’s inception in 1995, generating tens of thousands of dollars in pop tab revenue for the House.

Thank you so very much for your participation in everything we do! We couldn't do this without all of our wonderful employees!
